Why Confidence Scores Matter More Than Maps

Most geospatial products deliver pictures. A map, a heatmap, an overlay. Pictures are legible, but they are not instruments. An underwriter cannot price a policy on a picture. A grid operator cannot dispatch crews on a picture. An auditor cannot sign off on a picture.
An instrument delivers a value and a confidence. A wind sensor returns 12.3 m/s ±0.4. A blood test returns a concentration and an interval. Institutions have spent a century building decision systems around this shape of output. Geospatial intelligence has to meet the same bar to become part of those systems.
EOSYN Core attaches an explicit confidence score to every output: change detection, risk classification, asset condition. The score is calibrated against ground truth, published in the model card, and versioned with the model. That is the difference between showing the world and measuring it.
